  • Sleep Problems on TV and Radio Today

For those not on Twitter, please note that today, Tuesday 11/10 you can catch the Live with Gabby Logan show on Channel 5 where a sleep doc will answer phone-in questions. If they stick to their planned program, they will also cover Zeo. It starts now, 11:10am.

    PART 2b: EXPERT-SAMMY MARGO –SLEEP
HEADLINE: TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR SLEEP WITH ZEO SLEEP MANAGER

A headband tracks your sleep stages throughout the night and then transfers your sleep data either to a bedside unit or wirelessly to your smart phone. In the morning, Zeo shows you how much time you spent in Light, Deep and REM sleep and gives you a real, timed sleep graph with your sleep patterns.
HEADLINE: AN EARLY BEDTIME MAY HELP KEEP TEENS FIT
    Time, 5/10/11
A new study finds that teens who went to bed early and got up early were thinner and fitter than those who slept late. The findings, published in the journal Sleep, suggest that it's not just the amount of sleep that kids get, but when they get it that matters.
HEADLINE: TIDAL WAVE' OF SLEEP DISORDERS, BBC Scotland 6/10/11
The NHS is struggling with a "tidal wave" of sleep disorders related to obesity, according to specialists. The number of people being referred for sleep problems in Scotland has risen 25% over the past three years, with about 80% of patients overweight.
PART 3: JANE SHEEHAN – THE FOOT READER
From bunions to blisters, corns to calluses, feet often find themselves a neglected and much maligned part of the human body. One lady, however, believes that feet are fantastic - not only that, foot reader, Jane Sheenan, believes they can provide a valuable insight into their owner’s emotional health, happiness and character in general! Jane joins us now to tell us more.
Jane will anaylse Gabby’s feet as well as unknown subject to be revealed.
Nicki chapman will also have her feet looked at

PART 4: SLEEP PHONE IN WITH SAMMY MARGO
We take your calls in an open phone in.
Around lunch time, sleep apnoea will be covered on BBC Five Live.

Apologises if this been discussed elsewhere, Zeo is too short to search on and sleep manager returns nothing related. Skimmed the likely forums but didn't find anything.

Anyone got any opinions on the Zeo Sleep Manager? I read about it a few weeks ago but reviews seemed mixed either it works for you or it doesn't.

There are indeed some people who's emitting brainwaves simply aren't in the expected frequencies. That's a minority though and that's what the 30-night guarantee is for, so you have a full month to figure out whether it's useful for you. Thankfully, this happens in less than ~2% of people, the rest sleep very well with it.

Thanks for the reply, I hadn't noticed the Intus link with the Zeo in europe when I last posted. That and the 30 day guarantee gave me enough confidence to give it a go.

Was also interested to read that the platform is open to users and it seems quite easy to obtain data, that kind of thing appeals to me. Placed an order and just waiting on delivery.

Having just seen the Zeo at the SATAday conference, I have to say I am impressed with the data it gives.
I am placing my order this week, as I don't have an 'I' anything I have to buy the bigger one but hey ho, it's a great toy!

Alarm clock version arrived yesterday but going to be a few days before I can try it out as up to my neck in work.

For the people at SATAday, the two versions have incompatible sensors but other than that are they both functionally equivalent? Website didn't cover whether any version had additional bells and whistles.

edit: fixed "incomplete" when I meant "incompatible" typo.

              King Mob,

What do you mean "they have incomplete sensors"?

Sorry, meant to type incompatible, was thinking one thing and typed another. The clock sensor is RF based, the new mobile version is bluetooth. So you can't use the sensor from one with the other product.

I unboxed mine earlier, amazon wanted to make sure it was secure. Was in a box, inside another box, inside a third box.

All looks good, although didn't realise you only got one sensor pad (lasts 3 months). Some of the reviews I read mentioned getting four (a years supply) but they must have been from when it was originally released in the US at $400.

                  The headbands are different.

Zeo Bedside = Radio Frequency communication
Zeo Mobile = BlueTooth communication + memory card in the headgear

So are not interchangeable indeed as they use different methods to talk with the receiving end of the data. The Uk site is expanding with tons more info over the coming fortnight, gearing up to the Mobile launch.

Sensor pad is much like CPAP masks, where some go through one faster than others. If you take good care of it, it can last more than 3 months but that's the range they quote. Spare headbands will be on the site soon.

A 3-pack of headband + sensor for the bedside Zeo will be £43.95, a single £17.95.

The Mobile headband comes in single pack only for now, in at £17.95. Actually, also 3-packs at £43.95

So King Mob, what was your ZQ?

Unfortunately I've been snowed under with work this week, pretty much getting up in morning, going to work, coming home and going to sleep. Hoping to get some free time over weekend to get to grips with the zeo.
