What more can a PSG test tell you

My next test is a PSG and MSLT, I've done some reading up on the PSG but cannot really figure out the difference between this and the one you do at home thats wired to your neck, arm, leg.

From what I've read of the PSG it seems to cover the same things with the exception I stay over at a hospital and have electrodes on my scalp and eyelids?? Does the other test I did at home not show you REM NREM ect...??

Is this going to shed any more light on my situation

A PSG under hospital conditions is more likely, where there is an area of doubt, to yield a more accurate reading than one you do yourself at home.

The equipment for home testing cannot have the level of sophistication that a dedicated hospital sleep-unit would have.

So this is the clinic being thorough, I would have thought.
