I am struggling to get a diagnosis of any of my issues but hoped there may be some people who may recognise this as sleep apnea or not.

I sometimes try and watch a film in bed or do my studies there but within a short space of time i have drifted off. I am shattered in the day time, tired and exhausted. Struggle to do everyday tasks due to no energy. I have allergies/food intolerances and since these have been addressed i feel a little better but not right still.

I wont allow my self rests in day as i know that will make me worse.

I find i go to toilet about two times during the night. After urinating i find that there is a dull ache in either side of what i presume would be my bladder. if i take in two many fluids i feel worse, sicky dizzy and even more tired.

Currently i have that many food intolerances my diet is very limited.

I have been told recently i dont snore off a pal but past bf's said i did but that was after usually when i moaned how much they had been snoring and kept me awake.

Can anyone recognise their symptoms in this pls?

It sounds to me like OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnoea) isn't the problem you have, but that wouldn't rule out Central Sleep Apnoea, but again, the symptoms don't seem right.

Urinating twice in the night and with the dull ache in the bladder doesn't seem quite right for Sleep Apnoea either. The ache would suggest to me you are urinating because of a full bladder, which is not the case with OSA. The need to urinate frequently during the night with OSA is caused by the body going into panic mode and triggering the "fight or flight" instincts.

In terms of the sleepiness, this maybe indicative of Sleep Apnoea, but the other symptoms don't really fit. If you want an indication though Google the "Epworth Sleepiness Scale" and "Berlin Questionnaire". They are the standard first steps in identifying Sleep Apnoea and breathing disordered sleep. If that indicates you are affected by it, you can always take those results to your GP.

Bear in mind, we are not experts on this forum, just experienced sufferers. Don't take what I said as any form of expert opinion, just a lay opinion of your symptoms. If the questionnaire and sleepiness scale indicate anything, take them to your GP or whomever else you are seeing with your symptoms.

      OSA?

Hi, I agree with Fredxx. You need to fill out the forms to see if there are a lot of issues key to OSA. Lots of people with OSA snore the roof off. I don't snore at all. I have Centra Apnea which is more in the brain, than in the breathing apparatus. You could also just have a mild bladder or kidney infection which would account for the feeling poorly, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, and waking to go to the loo frequently--sometimes producing little results. As Fredxx said--we are not DR's--and it might be a good idea for you to see yours, and have some tests done. x Berneta

Definitely get yourself tested, either through your GP or privately, a basic test isn't much more expensive than dinner out for two or a tank of petrol here in the uk!

Sleep Apnoea could be causing your sleepiness in the day and if you are snoring that's a good sign, your current friend could be being polite

Lack of sleep will affect your whole body and the bladder pain and stuff also needs treating, but if you have sleep apnoea and get successful treatment for it a lot of other things may go away.
