  • Don't fall asleep without your mask!

So I went to bed late last night, and wanted to watch something on TV, so I switched on all my gear, hooked up the oximiter and lay in bed watching tv...

At 4:50 I woke up, with a feeling I'd forgotten - gasping for breath, heart racing....

Wow! Cpap really has changed my life - since starting in november this has not happened to me. But anyway, in the interests of stats and science see the graph below - I was actually not doing too badly for a while...

Blimey! Certainly underlines the need for CPAP!

      Hi Symmit,
Would you recommend getting an Oximeter? Is there one you would recommend?

An Oximeter is handy for comparing masks or equipment setup and observing sleep pattern.
Have a look at the readings with and without CPAP to appreciate the effectiveness of your treatment.
But there is certainly no need to use it every night.

The wrist type is very comfortable - no long wires and easy to take to the PC for download.
I got a CMS-50F on ebay from Hong Kong - about £63 with delivery 5 days.
Easy to set up although the manual in 'Hong Kong English' takes a little patience.
The software works fine on Windows XP but would have liked more options for analyzing data.

Worthwhile if you can get one at that sort of price.
