Last night was the first night I've used the oximeter and had 0 events below 88%.

TF - how you getting on with yours?!

    Hi symmit

I set the alarm at 90% and would be seriously pee'd off - for two reasons - if it sounded! Mind, having used the oximeter to set up my CPAP optimally, I don't use it these days. It will be out again if/when my sleep goes off again and for the occasional check up look see night.

The medics tell me that my typical 96% saturation is because I used to smoke - never mind giving up eighteen years ago.I think smoking and being over-weight are the two most common items for switching off a medics brain.

What make are you using S & TF? Did you get them from a clinic or are they e-bay purchases?

I liked the look of the CMS-50F with the wrist recording, until I saw the CMS-50D-PLUS which seems to do it all just on the finger.

I should really think about getting one of these sometime - 9 years since my sleep study!

Seems these are £140 - £180 - are they complicated to operate?

I was looking for a simple to use as cheap as I could get away with ...

Oh, I see the CMS-50D-PLUS is just under £80, does it do everything the others do OK?

Hi - all the CMS ones are pretty much the same electronics in a different package. Some of the clip-only ones are quite bulky and may fall off your finger if you're a fidgety sleeper which is why I went for the wrist mounted one.

They are very simple to use, the hardest bit can be getting the software working on some PCs.

Many thanks Symmit, that is very helpful, saving half the money seemed attractive until recognising I might knock it off all the time.

Wait until chinese new year is over, the 50F will cost you less than 100 quid delivered. At the moment ebay is quiet for chinese suppliers.

AHI/ODI aside, some (used to) diagnose OSA severity by time spend < 90%. I don't know the exact calculations but suppose that no time under 90% would be quite good. So you're heading in the right direction.

Well I took delivery of a CMS-60C oximeter, which is thankfully easy to work as the manual is complex and not at all easy to follow. First major problem is my PC won't recognise the device despite loading the software. Any ideas anyone please?

uninstall the software and download the 0.981 version from here, it works on most PCs but the version in the box is a bit odd!

Many thanks for that Symmit, the manuals were handy and this version is the one that seems to have sorted everyone else that has had this problem but sadly the 'device isn't recognised' still for some reason (probably me).
Tiresome I know but any more suggestions would be much appreciatted Symmit.
