    Hi Taylor,
    Welcome to the forum.
Your scores seem about average for an untreated OSA sufferer. Mine was 49 an hour.
Just think how much better you will feel when you are on treatment and your score goes down to below 5. It is not all plain sailing and you will face different obstacles as you progress down the cpap route but persevere and all will be well.
Ask any questions you want, someone on here will be able to answer you.
    All the best

hi, just been diagnosed last week. waiting for that CPAP machine to be fitted or something, the consultant reckons I may have had since my teens? Anyway, she says the machine will be life changing, is it?

Whether it is life changing depends on how badly it affects your life now, and how well you take to the CPAP. For me it certainly was life changing.

Have a look at the thread titled "How do I get the most out of my initial appointment?" in the off-beat chatter / introductions part of the forum...it has just been discussed there

Hi Scooterlad, I have to say that it was life changing for me too. I went from tired, weak, and sleepy all the time to feeling alive again. Now doing things that I had not done for years--just starting to put my life back together. I think I had Sleep Apnea as far back as my teens too. Never could get enough sleep--and even dozed off in a few classes. Had to have a nap right after school in the afternoons at home--when all my friends were gathering up for a couple hours in the local teen hangout. My late teens and early twenties when I was raising babies was hard. Used to be so tired, I'd wake at night to feed the little ones, and I'd sometimes walk into walls. Was just kinda in a daze. So yes--CPAP is life changing for many people. But you have to really work at it-- and give it all you have. Best wishes for you, Berneta
