  • seperate beds.

    hi everyone.
Have just found this site and i'm pleased that i have.Well i was wondering if any one else has the same problem as me,that is still being banned from their marital bed after treatment has comenced for OSA .Ok the snorring has stopped,i no longer hold my breath for what seemed like an eternity"according to my wife",then to exhale very slowly groaning with enough volume to wake the neighbours.anyway,to cut a long story short my wife cant sleep with the venting from my mask and the faint sound from the machine!"BLESS HER". I just find it difficult after so many years of suffering and seperate sleeping arangements that the remedy is still a barrier.Does any one else find that their CPAP is a problem for their partner.I would realy apreciate any advice .
    thanks.

    Welcome bagpus

Specifically, what is the source of the noise she finds so annoying?

      hi tigers fan
problem is my wife is a light sleeper ,currently using a MIRAGE QUATTRO full face mask with a RESMED S8 ESCAPE machine.I must admit i would probably find it difficult to adjust to the noise after afew years in seperate rooms unless i was using it.

Where angels fear to tread .....

        Hi again bagpus

The hiss or whosh from that mask is curable by sticking a small piece of Scotch-some-thing-or-other over the vent (the green scritchy pads for cleaning saucepans). Don't block the vent in any way, mind. The air jet is diffused and so is quieter and less forceful.

        As for the rest ..........

Tigers Fan is refering to Scotch Brite. Using superglue tack a piece over the vents This acts as a baffle and the noise levels drop significantly. I had the same problem and have used this solution successfully now for some 9 months on several different types of mask
