Does anyone else get these? I get it in my hands and they can go a bit numb, whats all that about does any one know? Do you think its linked to lowish oxygen levels and having SA or not?

WHen?
Hi jillybean
When do you get pins and needles? and in what position are your arms?
I get them -and numbness - in my feet, due to diabetic neuropathy. A drop in air temperature brings it on.

Got to move!
Hi jillybean
Then I suspect you have nothing more than a slight circulation problem when you are still in one position and the blood flow is a little restricted, probably at a joint. If changing your position regularly - change hands with the phone (or buy an ear-piece) and stretch your legs, move your hand in bed (hard if you are asleep) - solves the problem, then nothing to worry about.
If the problem persists, see your GP, of course.

Hi JillyBean
I am not making a personal comment about you here, but most people with OSA are also considerably overweight and lacking in energy. This creates a catch 22 scenario, and the more overweight you become the harder your heart has to work to keep you circulation going so it slows down causing pins and needles. Try to keep moving as much as you can until your energy levels increase then you should be trying to get a heart rate of between 120 and 140 (depending on your age) for at least 30 mins every day, achieved by power walking or excercise. Tigers Fan also alluded to Diabetes which is highly prevelent in overweight people, even young ones. I would suggest a reassuring visit to your GP might be in order to get this checked out.

Whilst I may be on the cuddly side I am sure active!!
Having two youngish children, a few dogs and six horses to do every day does not allow time for sitting watching this morning or whatever it is they have on tv.
Maybe if Im lucky a cup of tea and a quick sneak at Ch4 Racing for half an hour in the afternoon before the school run and the chaos that then ensues.
Thats it.. in my case bad circulation due to total exhaustion!!

Hi Jillybean
I was certainly not "casting nasturtions" about you. In view of your comments about your activity levels I still think a dibetes check might be worth while, it can easily be done at your doctors surgery by dipping a wee sample. In addition to feeling tired, do you drink a lot, have a dry mouth, have itchy skin, wee a lot, have pins and needles or leg pains? If you have any of these I would definitely go

Hi Jillybean,
Check you have not got carpal tunnel syndrome... I went to my GP as I had same problem and knew that I was not laying on my arm.. It is always worse at night... I wear hand splints to try and help the wrists rest... Good Luck

A machine version will be more affordable long term. Or get a Wii Fit, it has some brilliant yoga excercises.
