GERD - honey and apple cider vinegar

I think I wrote about my GERD recently on one of the forums. I have suffered for years and have taken Losec for 10 years or so. It has been up to 40mgs a day at bad times but thankfully it has for the past few months been much improved.

Last year I did some research on the web and found a site where I paid around $35 US to download a cure - it is something so simple - honey with the addition of Cider Apple Vinegar and apple.

After each meal or at meal times I drank a teaspoon of water, 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider vinegar and hot water. It is best after. At night I had a teaspoon of honey before going to bed and sometimes a slice of peeled apple.

Amazingly it has worked but took a time. It does not have to be expensive honey just the cheap stuff from the supermarket but it is recommended to get organic apple cider vinegar if you can. I also found it did not matter what sort of apple I used at night but you may find some types better than others.

The honey is soothing and the vinegar provides the right acid/enzyme to digest the food. Avoid eating or drinking acidic food such as tomatoes, citrus - that even includes excluding a slice of lemon in a g & t. Avoid eating late, wearing tight clothes and spicy food.

Please let me know how you get on with this remedy.

GERD - honey and apple cider vinegar

Just re read my message and see I say take a teaspoon of water - it should read a teaspoon of honey.

The remedy actually suggested a teaspoon of honey after each meal and at going to bed. Not always essential to have it as a drink but I found it helped tremendously - sadly though may have added a few inches around the waist!

Acid Reflux and wearing a full face mask?

I get a lot of acid reflux and as I newbie to CPAP I'm a bit apprehensive as to how I'll react if the reflux wakens me up. I take Ranitidine for it.
Also interesting to hear that it's a common ailment along with sleep apnea.
        Kind regards, Tricia

I had GERD for past 2 years and take 10mg Aciphex daily. Physician recommends this is a proton pump inhibitor used to relieve GERD symptoms. Generic for Aciphex works by blocking the production of stomach acid and to relieve slowly.
