  • Too much sleep?

    Hi,
I am doing ok with the cpap but am still extremely tired all the time.
My pressure is at 15 which my doctor is happy with. I sleep better but not brilliantly.
My problem is I get in from work, have dinner and then go to bed around 7pm because I am so very tired. I then sleep till 7am, get up, go to work, spend all day yawning and feeling awful. Then I repeat the process.
I have no life and am really fed up.
Please only answer if you have any advice or suggestions. I have little patience due to tiredness and inane chat does my head in.
    Thanks
    Lorraine

I have been to my GP so many times, they didnt even diagnose OSA after about 10 years of being tired, it took a someone who doesnt know me to diagnose it when I was in hospital with asthma.
GP's are no help. I have seen loads of them, even a respiritory specialist I saw today wouldn't comment.

        Hi TF,
I did go to my doctor many many times, they don't listen.
I saw a respiratory specialist today about my asthma and he didn't listen either when I said I sleep 13 hours a night and yawn the rest of the time.
I have been saying to my GP for over 10 years how tired I am and apart from blood tests they have done nothing. I was in hospital with pneumonia and a passing doctor said he thought I might have OSA and within 2 days I had a cpap. If that hadn't happened I would still be struggling to sleep during the night. Now it has gone the other way, I can't stay awake during the day or night.
        Thanks for the suggestion though

Phone the sleep clinic which gave you your CPAP and change your GP. It may also be down to an underlying health issue. See this thread http://forums.cpap.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1243
