Cool the room down as much as possible. The cooler the better. When our bedroom is nice and cold, my husband doesn't snore at all. I sometimes have to get extra blankets, but it's worth the extra sleep I get! Right now, with the weather being so warm (we don't get below 75 most nights here) it's really hard. But if you have a/c and a fan... get them going and get it cold.

P.S. The same thing works for my Grampa, Uncle and Brother In Law.

Sounds like we are having the same problem tonight on the east coast! I usually keep gently kicking his leg to make him move, and, hopefully, STOP the snoring!! If that doesn't work I usually hop on the computer and browse Answers LOL...or if I really can't sleep I watch tv and think about all the housework I should be doing!

Does he actually stop breathing every now and then?

OMG.. this is awful! If the snoring is so bad you can't sleep order your fellas to the Doctors/Phyician/ GP whatever...

You shouldn't have to put up with the lack of sleep yourselves or have to resort to the sofa! He probably isn't getting any useful sleep either. The usual things will apply, is he sleepy early on in the day.. falling asleep driving or not having enough energy to do a whole day? There are many things.. and the Doctor is usually well aquainted with snoring problems.

You might end up doing you both a favour.. certainly my misses did.
