I swopped my Respironics Comfort Gel mask for a Fisher&Paykel Flexifit 407 as it is smaller and lighter. I was looking forward to a decent nights sleep but didn't get one.

Who thought that putting a row of holes that directed cold blasts of air into your eyes was a good idea? I've dragged out and washed an eyemask for tonight and hope that solves it, otherwise its back to having a lead weight hanging off my face, strap marks and aching teeth.

Ain't life a barrel of laughs?!

I'm using the 405 which is similar.
I do get the odd whisper of air through my hole (that doesn't sound right does it)
Seriously the 405 has a filter on the exhalation port which minimises that effect. I think from memory that's why I went for the 405 over the 407.
Isn't the 407 a smaller lightweight version designed for smaller features. ?

Witout the physical filter, the 407 is so-called "maintenance free" which was meant to be an improvement over the 405. That and the somewhat better headgear and frosted silicone are the only differences between the 405 and 407. There's actually a lot of vent holes in the 407 so it shouldn't be a problem covering the top few with tap, blue-tac or otherwise closing them.

HELP - does anyone else have this problem?

The mask fits fine when I'm upright, but as soon as I lie down it goes to pot. The forehead bit waves in mid air and even if I tighten all the straps I still get the same problem but with added pain! It leaks more than a sieve.

I can't believe that my head is any weirder shaped than anyone elses - so is there a set of straps that isn't like Hannibal Lechters? Something like a WWII gas mask would be good ............

Are you still referring to the 407?

I can't imagine how it's possible to not have the forehead support pad touch your forehead when the straps are adequately applied. Never had anyone experiencing that!

I guess (warranty alert) you could heat the plastic part between the mask and the forhead support t-bar and bend it more towards you but it's quite extreme to have to do that.

I assume you do have the rubber pad attached to the fore head support.

I have a 432 but I believe it has the same rubber pad.

I've got the rubber bits on it - http://www.cpapsupplyusa.com/Fisher-...ear-HC407.aspx

It says it fits most all users ---- I'm a freak!
