  • Nose mask sores

I have been using my APAP machine for the past week, and it has been going quite well. The main problem I have is that my nose mask digs into the top of my nose and I have sores on my nose from this. I just wondered if anyone has any tips on how to get round this problem?

Thanks in advance for any replies

    Nose problem

    Hi Peter
Just changed my mask to the Resmed Mirage Liberty for that very reason. Constant problems with soreness on bridge of nose.
    Regards
    Tony

It may sound silly but have you loosened the whole thing off then slowly tightened it until it stops leaking and is comfortable? You should not wear it too tight (as I did at first) I am now surprised at how loose I wear it now. I have a mirage micro nose mask. If you read some threads on here, other people have used various forms of sticky tape or plasters to alleviate similar problems

        Thanks for the advice

I will see if I can try out a different mask when I go back to the hospital, hopefully next week.

          Hi,
My Resmed mask has an adjustment knob on the forehead pads to bring the mask away from the top of the mask, so no contact or soreness. The only soreness I have is under my nose, I get a red line where the bottom of the mask pushes against my gums but I'm slowly loosening the mask and it's getting better. At first it looked like I had a red moustache!
