  • Pleasant side-effect of CPAP

Hope I don't put anyone off, but I used to dribble horribly in my sleep - every morning I would wake up with a wet pillow and a really nasty taste in my mouth. I would always rush for the toothbrush. Since using my nose mask, this isn't happening any more - no more embarrassing dribbling and no more horrible breath in the morning. My CPAP just gets better and better!

    Dribble Dribble - Contained!

Using a FF mask or the hybrid, I find that I dribble less but what remains helps the seal. It you get a leak you do have some very funny phantom raspberry (of LDN) town noises which reduced me to a gibbering wreck with laughter last time it happened!
I use a ramp pillow for my neck (old back injury) and since using the mask with much less dribbling and reduced sweating (used to wake up feeling as if my head had just come out from under the grill) I have purchased a new ramp pillow (available from any good private physiotherapist) that I find really comfortable with the mask and no longer has to be rung out of bodily fluids!
Anyway just goes to show you that the side benefits of good CPAP therapy are endless and varied!

      How Goes It Poppy56?

      Hi Poppy56

How is it going with your CPAP?

I just had a letter from the DVLA saying I can keep my license with NO RESTRICTIONS = I'm well pleased!

My better half recently broke her leg in two places and to be perfectly honest I am not sure how I would have coped without CPAP - with me feeling so much better I have been able generally to take up the additional mantle of the endless things / duties you girls do for us blokes!

Anyway let us know how you're getting on - Cheers!

I have the opposite problem & have to wipe the dribble from inside my mask!

I can honestly say CPAP has transformed my life - energy levels are higher than they've been for years. The price of wearing a mask to bed is worth paying!
