Anyone offering help on my problem is most welcome...
I have tried a few masks, but none feel as comfortable as the Mirage Quattro - fits my face well.
After some iniital teething problems with leaks - I now have this mask just right - it fits lovely and can feel no leaks at all......so why on earth did my Sleep Tech tell me the leak rate was too high and I should get this down by adjusting the mask.....
Having taken extensive advice from other members on the best way to get a good fit, my leak rate is still reading apparently very high and my AHI reading seems to be going up??
My AHI has never been below 10/hr - but with the leak rate going up (now at 43lpm) the AHI seems to be following suit.....but I am adamant that the mask is not leaking intentionally (i.e. Not leaking out the sides).
I have my APAP pressures at 14 & 17.5 Which is nice and comfortable, Humidifier works well.....is it possible that as I have been cranking up the pressure that the natural intended gaps in this mask, intended for escaping air (The nasal ducts, The Hose Inlet, The green joins on the rubbers) - are simply leaking more readibly under higher pressures.....the bemusing thing for me is, I am getting a good nights sleep now - when I do wake under pressure there is no way this mask is leaking, so why is my AHI rate not coming down....?
Any support for this bemused statistician is most welcome!
