Mirage Quattro Cushion/Seal
How long does this part of the face mask usually last? The reason I ask is that I have had the mask and machine (Resmed S8) since early December 2008. In the last week or so I have started to get leaks around the nose area blowing into my eyes which obviously wakes me up. Previous to this I had no leakage. Do I need a new cushion/seal?

I use a quattro and have been using the same seal since June 08 without problems.
Are you using the adjustment correctly? wind the adjuster wright out before you put the mask on, when you have the mask in the correct position two or three clicks on the adjuster should provide you with a good seal. The other thing I found with the Quattro was that, although I had used the large size with other masks, the medium size gave a better seal with the quattro -
Mask seals tend to remain good for 6-18 months, depending on maintenance, skin oils etc.
Sounds like the fresh out of the box version suited you better than its current "worn-in" state. A bit like with new shoes but rather than improving, it's the opposite for you which is unfortunate.
Hopefully with a couple of tweaks you can remedy it.Comment
