  • Still Bloody Snoring !!!!!

    Hi All,

I've recently had an appointment at the Royal Brompton Hospital where a lovely lady fitted me out with a mask and machine (sorry don't know the model as I'm at work typing this) but I believe the CPAP machine is a resmed s8? Anyway, last night was my second night of trying to get on with it....... nodded off only to be awoken by my own snoring and a sense of choking (had to give up with it after a cpl of hours on the first night)! I've never woke myself up before.....my partner plenty of times but never myself! so why is my own snoring waking me now? If anyone can help I'd be much oblidged, my mask is a full face one by the way as the specialist at the hospital didn't think a nasal one would work as I can't breathe through my nose due to it being broken about 20 years ago (haven't been able to breath through it properly since).

    Regards
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Welcome to the forum. You're lucky with your hospital being a good one in terms of OSA therapy.

If snoring and choking persists, the machine isn't at the right pressure. After yo've used it for about a week, there will be enough data for them to determine whether and how much to adjust it.

      Thanks James

Thanks James, you have just confirmed what the specialist has told my partner, and yes, you're right, I am extremely lucky to have such good support from my hospital, the specialist actually phoned my partner today to see how I was getting on! That's what I call service.
