Has anyone come across a way of replacing tired old mask straps without paying out for a specific head gear replacement kit which tend to cost nearly as much as mask

    Hi Les
Find all the information you need to make the most of CPAP therapy and treat Sleep Apnea. Read tons of reviews on CPAP Machines, Masks & Supplies.

I found this when I was looking ..
I have not used this site..
It may not help but let me know how you get on as
my hubbies mask straps are on there last legs ..
    Thanks

Cpap.com are very good. I've ordered from them before. You'll have import duties to pay though.

Personally, I'd just fork out and buy the proper headgear. They usually cost around £40. Surely not as much as the mask?

Which mask do you have Les?

        Hi Flyhigh
Yes I had seen this site but although the straps all seem to be for specific masks there a couple of nasal strap sets that are sufficiently generic to be used with other sets. Unfortunately I use a full face mask and the headgear suitablef or full face masks all appears to be fairly specific and doesn't look easy to adapt to other masks. I use a ZZZ mask which is excellent apart from the straps which stretch and stretch and stretch and........ You cant buy spare strap sets for this mask, hence my enquiry

            Zzz Mask straps

            Hi Les

Do you mean that one can't buy straps in the States or just here?

I've just asked the question in the US. If they sell them, do you want me to get you a strap?

I intend to buy the mask with headgear and from what you say, a couple of spare straps would be in order, too.

A friend is flying in at the end of the month and has agreed to carry stuff for me.

              Hi Tigers Fan
I am led to believe that the ZZZ straps are not available as a seperate item ( certainly not in the UK) If your friend can get them in the USA I would be more than happy to buy from you/him

I think you're right Les. Cpap.com stock absolutely everything and Zzz straps aren't listed. Have you tried contacting ProBasics? I don't know if they have a UK distributor.

The Pro Basics distributer in the UK is the same company that hosts this forum, i.e. Intus Health Care, that's how I know that the straps are not available in the UK. I have tried emailing Pro Basics directly but they dont reply. My guess is that they will only talk to the trade.

                    The plot thickens .......

I went to PMI, parent of Probasics, to ask if separate straps are available. Their reply is enigmatic to say the least -

                    I sent to them

I’m having such difficulty sourcing spare headgear for the Zzz Mask Full Face Mask that I begin to doubt the availability of them separately from the mask.

Please advise if the headgear is sold separately from the mask and the item number for them.

If you sell retail to UK, I shall be happy to buy a new mask and spare straps from you.

                    To which they replied

We do not sell direct. We do make replacement headgear and we do have an internet dealer in the UK.

                    Finish. All they sent back.

cpapsuppliesusa.com have just told me that separate headgear is not available (and shipping costs for a mask make it cheaper to buy in UK).

And your searches here, Les, have turned up nothing. So, their dealer has to be Intus Health Care who we need to ask (are you reading this in copy) to order us some of these headgears.

                      No result

Intus Health Care have not bothered to reply to my enquiry about a special order for Zzz Mask headgear.

                        Hi Tigers Fan,

Did you e-mail us? We've not seen your enquiry so please let me know how you sent it so I can double-check. All enquiries are promptly replied to and we average around 2.5 hours so please don't think we can't be bothered. If you didn't get a reply it must mean we didn't get it in the first place!

Having now read your posts in this thread I can confirm we do not have seperate headgear for these and are not aware of such parts being available from PMI. We will check with them though as this situation may have changed (like they added sizing guages recently). They are actively developing and do listen to user feedback so I wouldn't be surprised if parts are available shortly.

I hope their customer service improves. I've emailed them before and didn't much care for their terse replies

Just to clarify. I was referring to PMI and not Intus, who I have always found to be helpful.
