  • Anyone tried the Mirage Quattro full face ?

    Hi,
Joined the site today, loads of good advice from many threads.
I have been using an Ultra Mirage II full face mask since being diagnosed 4 years ago.
I get through loads as have one for home, one for travel, and one at my parents home ( I hate luging everything about ! ).

After a few months I always get noise and leaks from the air vent.

The new 4th gen quattro allegedley eliminates this, so I am thinking of changing.

Has anyone got any experience of the new Quattro and how much did they cost ? ( cant find a proce on the resmed site ).

    Ta in advance

Hi Maria and wlecome to the forum.

I started CPAP in January and for the first month used the Ultra Mirage II full face before swapping over to the Quattro.

I find that the Quattro is very comfortable and is quieter than the Mirage II. It has less parts and so is simpler to dismantle for cleaning.

The only thing I have found is that it leaks air where the elbow joint fits on to the face and this has been noted by several others on various forums. The fix for this is simple though, get a roll of plumber's PTFE tape (about 60p from B&Q) and a couple of turns of that around the elbow before fitting it to the mask cures the leak and still allows the joint to rotate.

Overall I find it a great mask but I can't help you with the price as I got mine from the NHS.

Given up my ResMed S8 Escape and got myself a Sandman Auto from James!
