  • Bags under eyes

Does anyone else get bad bags under their eyes which last most of the day? Any cure?

    Good Afternoon,

    Thank you for your post.

If you google sleep apnoea and bags under the eyes there are a few links that are suitable to read to give you a better understanding as to why you get the bags under your eyes.

Can I kindly ask what mask you are using and do you get a good seal or do you have any leakage?

I've been using my machine for 5 nights now and all is OK except, like you I have bags and circles under my eyes. I look awful and ironically look more tired than before! I'm going to Google as suggested. Good luck!

Please let me know how you get on or if I can be of any further assistance.

I’ve just joined this forum and I’m disappointed to see a moderator tell someone who has accessed the forum for shared experiences to “Google it”. The writer is like myself who is a relatively new Cpap user who finds that the one visible symptom undoubtedly brought on by Cpap are bags under both eyes! I’m pleased to see several other people have shared experiences but disappointed that a sight moderator seems to think Google is the answer.

            Hello Nick16.

Welcome to the forum! I’m sorry to hear about your disappointment with the response I gave to another CPAP Forum User. Forums like this thrive on shared experiences and supportive conversations, so I understand how you might feel discouraged when encountering a suggestion that seems less personal.

I do not use CPAP machines and masks and I am not a medical professional, but can share my customers feedback and insight they have given me during the time I have spent helping customers in my role. I am here to help people with their sleep apnoea treatment which is why I asked about the mask and leakage as poor fit or mask leakage is normally the reason behind CPAP therapy causing bags under the eyes.

I hope you continue to find value in the shared experiences here, and please feel free to ask more questions or share your own journey—your contributions are what make this space meaningful.

            Kelly

I certainly had bags under my eyes in the early days (nights), but put it down to extra tiredness, because I wasn't sleeping well.
