  • Advice re masks please

Hello - new here and hope I can get some guidance - Was provided with Resmed Airsense 10 autoset with F20 full face mask mid-2022 - the mask felt very restrictive, itchy nose unable to scratch, pressure on bridge of nose even when straps loose and I like to sleep on my side so leaks even when tight - really did not get on with it - did a bit of research and I have now moved to N30I (after trying gel filled F20 mask and the memory foam version) which I find more comfortable as it does not cover nose and connects on top of the head and no issues when I sleep on my side but some nights it just feels uncomfortable and I give up - pinches the side of my mouth and teeth rub inside of mouth but looser and leaks - the results via APP suggest good fit etc but I still feel tired - last night over 10-hours, good results on the App but still sluggish and my Garmin sleep monito shows poor sleep too much stress?- I did try the Airfit P30 Nasal Cushion it is very comfy (in comparison) but I just cannot get the settings right as even on the lowest settings the air pushed up my nose is very loud in my head and it feels pretty intense going up the nose and down my throat like a an pressure washer:-( I know I should go back to the sleep clinic but NHS and crazy long wait) - I will probably stick with the F20 but when I wear N30 without the pressure so much more comfortable - any suggestions, gratefully received :-)

Hello, Your sleep clinic provided you with a full face mask and you moved to a nasal mask. First of you you need to identify how you breathe at night and see what type of mask you need. Then it can take 2-3 weeks to get used to a new mask, so we would suggest watching fitting video to get tip. The mask needs to be cleaned daily in mild soapy water, let air dry and applied on a clean dry face in the evening.
If you experience discomfort, red marks or air leaks with your CPAP mask, consider these RemZzzs Mask Liners. A soft cotton fabric liner creates a barrier, absorbs skin oils and reduces air leaks as well as skin irritation and pressure marks. Try a sample pack for just £8.99.

Please make sure that you have right size for the F20, watch fitting video and give it another go to see how you are getting on. Perseverance is the key.

Hi. I'm a new CPAP user looking for some advice please. I am using a Phillips Respironics Dreamwear nasal pillow mask which has the tube connection on the top of my head. What is the best way of quick releasing the tube from the mask to avoid taking the mask off every time I get out of bed to go to the toilet please?

        Good Morning,

        Thank you for your email

The Philips Dreamwear masks have a quick release swivel (the white part n the end of the elbow that you connect your tube to). You can disconnect your mask from your tube here.
