  • Resmed Mirage Nasal Pillows Leak figures

    Hi,
Just wanted to see if the leak rate I am getting on my Mirage nasal pillows is normal.
It seems consistent at somewhere between 0.2 and 0.3.
Can anyone tell me what they are getting for comparison please.
    Many thanks

I use the Puritan Bennett Breeze mask with nasal pillows which gave an average nightly leak rate for February of 0.03. Sixteen of those nights I had a leak rate of 0. Not quite what you asked for but maybe its a yardstick for what can be achieved with pillows.

    Best regards
    Andy

I use the Mirage swift nasal pillows but unfortunately my machine does not measure leakage - I am not aware of any great leakage (unlike when I used nasal masks and full face masks).
If there is any leakage (possibly when asleep) how would I know - would it be that I just felt sleepy again during the day.

My machine does not measure leakage, I do wake sometimes when it does leak. A "puff in" the eye will wake anyone! Somedays I do feel more tired then others, but nowhere near as tired as pre cpap.

my biggest problem now is with imflammed and sore sinus's which seem to affect my ears and eyes, as well as my nose - I have been given some eye drops and a couple of nasal sprays by my GP but they do not seem to cure the problem - I am using a humidifier so not quite sure why my nasal passages seem to be getting so sore and inflamed ?

Hi - After reading the other posts about false members etc and avertising for the site that nuneatonman37 told me to look at can i say the following

I am not a fake member - I started on a cpap machine in mid January and am still having problems - up until a few minutes ago i thought this site was to help fellow members now i am a bit disillusioned - also i don't care if the site is sponsered by a company selling osa equipment it's the advice from fellow sufferers that I thought was helpful - maybe I will have to go elsewhere for help.

A few of us have noticed something very odd going on over the last few weeks. Unfortunately some have voiced their worries, a bit too over the top if you ask me. A few dodgy posters and blatant indirect adverts have kicked this off and Joe does not seem to be doing anything about it as a mod.

Its a little sad that genuine members and newbies are getting the wrong impression of the forum in general for one reason or other. I'm suggesting that everyone just take a little time to chill and see what happens.

However I'm going to step back a bit and let it blow over.

                Any cpap questions PM me.
                regards Puffin
