Hi can someone please tell me how long a Resmed Mirage FX Mask lasts for as i have to phone up today and ask for a new one !!! this old one only
lasted 4 months is that about right , please reply thankyou

I think the latex is supposed to last up to a year, I suppose the mask itself can last ages. What has happened to yours?

Hi i am sorry for being late to answer , not been myself , but the hospital did send me a new one out FX , i am careful with it cleaning ect its a very good mask , do you use FX well i am better now so i can reply , thankyou

Most masks will only have a warranty of about three months, although with good care you should get a good six months out of a cushion. We've had plenty of customers get over a year out of a mask before as well, so it does vary. Careful washing on a daily basis will prolong its life.

Although you get your masks through the NHS, those who get their equipment privately can usually choose to simply replace the cushion rather than the whole mask. This is usually more cost-effective. You may find your clinic opts to simply replace the cushion if that is all that is required, too.

When you say the mask lasted four months, out of interest was that until the cushion was too worn, or did part of it simply break?

Hi Tom@Intus , thankyou for getting back to me about FX mask , were the air comes out of the mask a hole appered , so this new mask i am just putting a baby wet wipe daily over it ,like before i had mask and hose in sink with fairy liquid ,i am still washing hose that way , but like i have said its a baby wipe with the mask now lets hope it lasts longer.


the reason i asked question, was i thought the hospital was going to be funny with me as i just had it 3 months i said to myself you are not going to get one lol they posted one no trouble , Thanks again keep in touch , Bob

I have used fairy for 8 years, never had an issue. Mask cushions (Mirage Ultra) lasted almost a year. Do only use a few drops though, it should be very dilute.
