bespoke masks?

Hi,
I've been using CPAP for 8 months with varying degrees of success & problems. My most recent concern is with masks leaking, like lots of other people, but my problem seems to be related to the fact that I have a receeding jaw/chin.
I wondered if anyone knows of a mask that addresses this problem or if I could/should ask the RESMED people to help ie by making one. I'm sure I'm not the only person with this problem. Thanks in anticipation

are you not able to use a nasal only mask - much easier to get a good seal!

yes I have tried a nasal mask - couldn't do more than 3 hours & even then had trouble with my nose - dripping/hurting for a week. I also have a bent septum. So any suggestions on what next for poor mask fit would be gratefully accepted.

liberty mirage

is a very forgiving mask when it comes to fitting; however it does have nasal prongs which you may not like.
I am currently using the Quattro fx due to a sore nose caused by an allergic reaction at the weekend (early hayfever or possibly perfume).
I will be going back to the mirage as soon as my nose isn't sore; I struggle to maintain a good fit with the qfx.

I have a deviated septum and have broken my nose more times than days in the week; I use a Sleepweaver and love it, love it, love it. So comfortable you don't know you are wearing it, but each to their own and it doesn't suite everyone.

poor fit masks

thanks for your suggestions I will look into both Liberty mirage & the sleep weaver, its never ending fun & games with CPAP isn't it?

I bought a Swift FX which I thought a great mask, but I just couldn't keep it in place. Another make I tried I couldn't get on with because the headgear didn't work for me. Another had a top exit and when added to my height I couldn't lay down in bed (Doh!!!!). At £100 a go for a lot of masks it is OUCH! every time you pick up something you can't use for whatever reason.

If the problem is more of physical fit than of the ability to breathe through the nose then a sleepweaver may be the ideal thing!

I had many problems with leaks at first, I seem to have sorted it out by getting the part on my nose leak free then tightening the bottom straps to get a comfy fit on the chin. I also changed headgear to a medium instead of a small and it cured the leaks. I use a Resmed Quattro mask and I'm a side sleeper too.

I tried the FX and got leaks.. I tried the liberty.. no leaks but felt like it was ripping my nostrils apart!
