  • Mirage SoftGel Nasal Mask Medium

I've had this mask for 18months ... very good seal onto my skin.
But recently it has started to squeak.

When I move from side-sleeping to back-sleeping the tube moves, of course. And so does the join in the plastic where the mask and the rotating pieces fit. And that's what is squeaking!

I am not going to try WD40 unless someone says it is ok!

Advice please from anyone else who has had similar problems with plastic-rubbing-on-plastic squeaking.

That is a new one to me but I would try some talc to see if it helps, at least it wont cause any damage.

    Good luck

On that part, probably Vaseline rather than wd40 - wd40 will just boil off (and not smell very nice)

Don't get the vasaline onto the silicone seal though, it can degrade it

the other option...well, 18 months is a pretty good life for a mask!

don't put talc on your mask

Talc is very, very bad for your lungs.

if talc was a new product it probably wouldn't get a license

Wouldn't go with Vaseline or any other petrochemical based product either. Get a silicone based lubricant intended for plastics if anything.

Does that mean that KY would be good?
Not used it myself but as it works with other things I thought it might do the trick.
