  • cpap headgear fitting

    Hi

I have been using the resmed mirage liberty mask for the last 6 months, and can get to sleep with it on but do find the nasal pillows can be prone to coming out. It seems however I try to get it fitted the same way each night I can never really tell if its going to get me through the night. Sometimes you feel as though you have replaced one problem with another. I get the odd good night and do not want to give up on CPAP.

On a separate issue has anyone experienced any problems with the nape of their neck which could be attributed to the pressure from the head gear?

No headgear should be that tight it makes your head hurt.
Try a much lighter approach. May be the reason it moves is becuase it is too tight?
    Hope you get it sorted

      mirage liberty headgear

      Hi Carol,
I am a big fan of the mirage liberty, its the mask that works best for me.
However it can take a bit of fiddling with to get right and over time the headgear loses its tackiness. Once you start dropping the blue plastic tabs on the floor its time to get a new one; I reckon to get 6-9 months use out of a set of headgear.

I have also discovered that the headgear for the Quattro FX mask works better with the Liberty than the headgear designed specifically for the Liberty! Just order a size smaller.

      good luck,
      Ian

Thanks for the advice, do you have any links to sites that would just sell the headgear?

I think you might be right, it just seems off that I am experiencing problems in my neck that is in the same area the lower part of the headgear sits on. Might be just a coincidence ???? or I'm just getting old.

Thanks for the advice and replying to my question
