All I'm really trying hard to get my new Quattro FX mask to fit properly. I have watched the video on line etc. but I'm struggling. It's now beginning to wake me up. Can any one help, now have air leaking out of the sides and it makes a terrible noise on my cheeks. Now getting desperate any tips greatly received.

getting a good seal
Try cleaning the gel surface of the mask and your face with an alcohol-free cleansing wipe (Tesco Sensitive Cleansing Wipes are a good cheap option). This stops the mask from sliding about on your face by removing any facial oil that will have accumulated.
Don't have the straps too tight; basically they should just hold the mask in place; the air pressure should inflate the skirt on the mask to create the seal.
If you do get a leak try pulling the mask slightly away from your face, with the pressure on, and let it plop back.
One of the problems I have had with this mask is that it appears to 'ride up with wear'; I start off ok but then get leaks as the mask climbs my face! I have tried micropore tape on the bridge of my nose with limited success.
Good luck.ResMed S9 Autoset with humidifier and ClimateLine

Hi notwoozy.
I have been using the Quattro FX mask for a couple of months now (still a newbie) and as has been stated above the cleaning of your face and mask is a must, I wash my seal in warm soapy water every day at first I only used to wipe it over with a wet cloth but since washing daily its greatly improved. Something else I have done is changed my pillow to a firm one, previously I used two softish pillows and was always having leaks but since changing to the firm pillow my leaks have just about disappeared and also my AHI reading has gone down to below 1 every night for the past week, and I find that I also do not have to tighten the mask as tight to get a seal.
The pillow I got from Matalan priced at £12 but was £3 at cash desk so bought a couple of spares as well.
Good luck and don't give up.

The Tesco Sensitive wipes are a great option. There is nothing in them that will damage the mask, and it is quick and easy to use the wipe first on the mask and then on your face just before you put it on.
I don't use this mask, mine is a Resmed nasal mask, but every mask will have some leaks during the night. I have found that since starting this as my nightly routine I am getting less leaks and dry skin problems; I didn't even realise I had a problem with them before!
