  • Face changes and masks

My face has gone from fat to thin and now the masks I was using are really uncomfortable. I didn't realise that face shape makes such a difference.
I am going for a mask fitting in July but until then am having to try all my masks on rotation to see which gives me the best fit now.
So far the Fitlife seems to have the better seal and causes less problems and yet a year ago it was horrible and wouldn't work for me at all.
I think everyone should have a proper fitting at the time of being given a machine, one mask certainly does not fit all.

Didn't know your face loses as much relative to your body to make a difference to the mask fit.
Do you mean they now rub or just leak more?
Unless using the nasal pillow or cushion I find totally leak free is almost impossible, and they aren't dependent on face shape.

My face has changed shape quite a lot, I no longer have fat cheeks and a triple chin!
I have found that one maks leaks more, one makes my face sore and the others are just uncomfortable.
I now go to bed with one on and when it wakes me up for whatever reason I take it off and go back to sleep without cpap. Either way I dont get enough sleep.
I have a mask fitting session in July when I hope to emerge with something that works well.
I have to say though that I have had my masks for 2 over years with no new seals so I expect they are just worn out.
