I think for me, this could be a problem with the silicone seal?

  • I think for me, this could be a problem with the silicone seal?

    Hi guys,
Ok.. I've tried the mirage quattro (both medium and small sizes) and now last night I slept in my new quattro fx. As with both masks, when I first put them on they are a perfect fit. No leaks or squeeks at all.

But, after a few hours of wearing them I just can not seem to get them to seal whatsoever thus getting air blowing into my eyes if I move my nose! It seems the oils from my skin are making the seals slide about (I seem to be blessed with combination skin). Just wondering if anyone else has this problem?

RemZzzs Mask Liners do seem to be exactly what you need

No arguing with RemZzzs - they are great. I also wonder do you wash your face at bedtime and do you suffer stretchy headgear straps.

Resmed sent me new headgear for my Quattro FX to replace stretched ones - so I was observant from the get-go with using a new headgear. Went to sleep with a perfect fit and woke four hours later with leaks and the straps way too loose. CVinched them in and woke this morning with floppy headdgear/mask.

Hi Glyn - wondered if you had managed to solve the leaks with your FX mask - did you try the Remzzz inserts?

The reason I ask is that my second mask was no good and wondered if they would try me on the FX next.

I use Mepilex cut to the shape of the Remzzz face-mask liners and find it very effective.

However, it occurs to me that the effectiveness of the liner may be down to the pressure you're taking. One mask-liner may be too thin to resist the leaks: perhaps a wad of three or four would be a better solution? And slather some barrier-cream around the area of your face where the mask fits.

            Just a thought.

            Anyone tried gaffer-tape?
