  • 1100 hours

Got mine, beginning of March and barring a few days away, I've used it every night; just noticed the menu bar says 1100 hours! I'm posting as encouragement to all the newbies, who, like me, thought they'd never ever be able to cope with it.
The key for me, was getting a fitting session to find the ideal fit for my peculiar features but also taking things in stages, not expecting instant perfection but trying to focus on the positives where and when these work.
I've had leaks, fizzes into my eyes, dry mouth, a "monkey ring" around my mouth and all sorts of teething problems, but I've kept on with it until really it no longer phases me (or I've become a rubber fetishist!)
I can't say it's solved ALL my sleep problems - I just don't sleep well and five hours is a good one for me so I still get tiredness. But....it seems to have completely cured all my sinus problems and I don't get mucus build ups; in fact I haven't had a serious cold or chest infection since. You'd think it would blow all the germs into your lungs but I guess I'm not shallow breathing now. I also never wake up with the shock of having stopped breathing. Snoring is less of a problem too. I find I wake having hardly moved as well. This is all said to be good for the heart so I'll take those positives against the inconvenence. Losing two-and-a-half stone in weight has helped as well.
CPAP isn't perfect..it's a pain at times but I'd encourage anyone having problems to keep at it; I never thought I'd ever hack it but Lady Silicon Lips and I are more or less wedded now. One interesting feature--dunno if anyone else has noticed this...strange and exotic dreams..must be all that extra oxygen. (or the rubber!) Keep at it folks.
Working...
