At the moment, no changes have been put through yet so if it's purely for the headgear, it's no good buying a new mask. If you e-mail us in detail how you wash it, how often you have washed it etc. I will see if we can get you new headgear under warranty. Having said that, not everybody has issues with this so I wonder whether machine temperature, washing powder used etc. plays a role.

When patterns beyond anecdotal arise, we share this with the manufacturers anyway. For the SleepWeaver, we've identified these issues of headgear riding up the neck, touching the earlobes and the desire for a 90 degree swivel. Circadiance, as an underdog I suppose, riding on innovation, are very keen to hear these suggestions though I'm very glad to keep hearing great stories every day how the cloth mask solves a lot of issues people have with conventional masks.

    • Thanks for that James. My headgear has only been washed four times, by hand with mild soap, so that isn't the problem. I will mail you.

      • Stitching coming away

        Hi all

I have been using the sleepweaver for about five weeks now. It is not the headgear that is causing me to complain it is the stitching on the internal section which forms the seal. I have washed the nose cone section every other day by hand in washing up liquid.

This sleepweever was given to me to trial by the sleep clinic at James Cook as they do not keep them. I will try to get it exchanged but cannot see them investing in more when it is deteriorating after less than two months.

I am really dissapointed because like most of you I have some problems with the headgear riding up and having to adjust it becasue of leakes. However, with my previous swift nasal pillows I only managed to wear it for two hours a night, with sleepweaver I have been getting six to seven hours every night.

Thank you to those people who replied when I asked where to buy a longer hose. Happy Easter everyone.

        • What exactly with the stitching is causing you problems? Sounds like overall its comfortable enough for you, to get almost the full night covered with it. But I don't quite get what in the stitching is causing you grief.

          • Stitching coming away

            Hi James
Sorry I have obviously not explained prpoerly. The stitching on the inside where the fabric is joined together is parting. The area that fits around the nose is a slighly different colour and stitching runs from one corner to the other. I have sewn it myself as James Cook do not have any more, it may hold but this is a dissapointment.
            Kind regards

            Karen

            • That stitching is a bit odd, some nights i can feel it and others I can't.

My headgear seems to be seperating though, I'm going to stop washing it as often as the mask (at the moment I leave it all together).

I'm only handwashing mine with hand soap, so nothing harsh, but I think the mask will outlive the headgear.

              • I am having the same problem with the stitching inside the mask some nights it just irritates also I have only washed my headgear twice and it is looking worn and I have only had the mask just over a month. This is the most comfortable of masks and I would miss it but if it falls apart I will not be able to afford another one. Maybe the manufacture's should take note of some of the comments and address the problems they have a very good product and if they reduced the price I think alot of people would buy it being as we can't get it off the NHS my hospital clinic had not heard of it so they say.

                • My mask component is absolutely fine and so comfortable. The concept is ingenious it has to be said, not less than brilliant I think.

Whilst I am thrilled with the Sleepweaver and feel the addition of the new headgear makes it the mask for me personally; I have a large box full of masks I have either bought or the clinic supplied that was going to be the mask for me that proved otherwise.
Masks are a personal choice and on a budget basis it makes sense to try masks on trade stands or at the clinic rather than buy every one that might be a solution. Moreover the Sleepweaver is radically different to the plastic masks and as indicated on this forum they are good for some of us but not for everyone.

                        • Sleepweaver disintegrating

I have had my current mask since March of this year and have had problems with stiching as previously posted. However, I was able to repair the stiching myself and have continued to use it.
Following the tissue advice for comfort I now wrap the sidesections in very old well washed soft cotton handkerchiefs and keep these in place with safety pins, this has stopped the cutting up under the ears sensation.
I wash my headgear every week (by hand in washing up liquid) and the nose cone every other day in the same way. I feel this mask needs frequent washing to create a seal and keep the headgear from becoming too loose.
After six months of constant use it is now disintegrating, the material that is bonded together that fits around the face is separating.
This is by far the best mask I tried and I am trying to get another on the NHS but at present my sleep clinic do not have a contract with the supplier.
My post is intended to help anyone considering buying one as I know one of my questions was how often will I need to replace it.
I feel so much better for my CPAP treatment and would encourage anyone who is struggling to persevere.

I've had mine since Christmas and it's still fine, the softer fabric of the inner bit is beginning to show signs of wear.

What I've done (and some may cringe here) is stop washing it as much. I now just wash it in handsoap and water quickly every morning, strip it and replace the tape once a week (or more if it falls apart) and haven't washed the headgear for ages (simply because the last headgear fell apart).

Am trying to get a year out of it (have spent over 300 quid on masks this year)...

                            • Had mine since spring I think. My mask cone and hose gets washed every day, the new headgear every fortnight in the washing machine inside a clean sock. Have not yet had to replace the tape and can't quite figure how the adhesive is lasting so long.

                              • sleepweaver mask liner

                                All,
I have had 2 sleepweaver masks in a year and this one has started to leak from the side of the nose area on both sides shooting air straight into my eyes all night. Can someoe suggest the right RemZzzs liner that fits this mask.

                                James,
Do you have any other answers as the Sleepweaver is the only mask that works for me?

                                Regards,

                                Darren
