Mirage Quattro seal retainer clip

I'm talking about the bottom one of the three clips on the seal retainer - the one without the 'wing'. On mine, the retainer is green.

My method of releasing the wingless clip is to use the end of the lever of a toe nail clipper which I've wrapped in a hand towel. Usually, well within a minute of cursing and tensed muscles, I manage to spring the clip free albeit that the towel is well on its way to early retirement on account of premature bald patches.

Today, however, it took five minutes and the cats still won't come anywhere near me. So a question arose in my mind ........

Does anyone have an easy, successful, efficient method of separating the the seal with its retainer 'ring' from the mask body of a Mirage Quattro?

Hi TF,

Got a bit confused while reading your question so I've just double checked on my Quattro.

Ignore the bottom clip - undo the two top ones, pull the top of the seal and ring forward slightly then lift it up and out.

Comes off with no fuss or bother.

Not only - but it has worked twice - and without even removing the nail clippers from the cabinet.

...... is a hell of a way to define oneself, GV!!

As it turns out, I've solved the problem myself. It won't do what I want it to do because that's the way it is designed - FreeOTFE Explorer, that is. Rohos , on the other hand, does exactly what I want.
