Are CPAP machines effected by the weather?
The last week or so my APAP has increased its 7 day pressure from 12.9 to 15.1.
I know that there are altitude settings which can be changed but how does the machine adjust for the high air pressure weather we have at present.

    Yes and No

    Hi silvercarper

The set pressure on a CPAP only machine is fixed by the sleep technician so it does not change - this is on basic machines. APAP may have a pressure transducer but you'd have to refer to the specific manufacturers data.

However in hot / humid weather I feel that the machine is slightly less effective - it feels like I could do with a increase in pressure to compensate

    What is your experience?

    Cheers

I should have said I have a APAP.
Now its cooled down Im back down to 12.1 but this could be missleading as I have been down with swine flu and missed a night.

Your breathing is indeed affected by the weather, so it's not too far-fetched to associate that with changes in APAP behaviour.
