My First Time
Machine: Fischer & Paykel HC608
Mask: Fischer & Paykel HC405 nasal mask
Well, we've finally made a start. The machine arrived AM Friday and I set it up at home after work. Wife was impressed with how quiet it was, dog (Samoyed) was impressed with me in the mask.
Pressure pre-set at 8cmh2o I left the humidifier and heated tube set at the defaults for the first night. My supplier told me if I had a problem with moisture to drop the humidity by 1 & raise the heated tube setting by 1.
I'm doing that tonight. No wonder they recommend using a humidifier to keep the air moist, I felt like a formula 1 driver with a drink line attached.
Plenty of moisture around although given the overnight minimum was 9o C and humidity was 92% I probably shouldn't be surprised. Still 8 hours usage & 8 hours compliance. Apart from the now obligatory bathroom break (it's my age you know) I kept the mask on all night even with the moisture.
I think I feel an improvement in my wellbeing today but I'll let you know for sure later on.
Red mark on bridge of the nose, probably caused by having the mask too tight, so a little bit of re-adjusting to do there.
Other than that, a positive start.
