Keep Badgering Them - Amazing What Can Happen!

    Hi silvercarper

Great news for you - keep at it and if you become a "pleasent and persistant pain" it really is amazing what can happen

Example - refer to "How to Get Seen Sooner" thread! WORKED FOR ME!

    Good for you - cheers!

I was pretty close to buying one. I was comparing the postage rates of the suppliers.

Why CPAP machines dont have a humidifier as standard I dont know. They should be a standard fit.

This morning rather than being woken by a cold icy blast blowing into my mouth I woke up with a warm summers breeze wafting in.

No dry mouth,no dry nose, no dry eyes. A completely different experience

For obvious reasons, the NHS are not keen to hand them out like lollipops, despite the great benefits. With us, it's probably 60/40 of who do go for humidifiers right away and of those 40, many come back in 2 weeks to get one after the fact. We certainly recommend it to all who wake up with a dry mouth, go for a full face or oral mask or who travel to cold or dry climates.

I Agree - Humidifiers should be Standard Fit!

              Silvercarper

Thought you'd like one - now you know the real breathing pleasure!

I agree that humidifiers should be almost standard fit on the machines the benefits for ease of manufacture would bring the overall unit cost down over time. In addition if you don't want to use the feature just don't fill up the water reservoir - easy peasy!

With the variety of UK weather we get having the humidifier is a "no brainer"!

Have you tried warm water - the slight steam effect is fantastic to get off to sleep after a long day - makes you all fuzzy very quickly - try it.

              Cheers!

I thought it was too good to be true.
As soon as I put the mask on it felt wrong as I was having trouble breathing. I just could not breath in enough air so in the middle of the night im taking the humidifier off.
Its a M series humidifier which has a dual power supply for the CPAP and the humidifier. After removing the humidifier and putting the original power supply back on the CPAP I was finally able to get to sleep.
It seems the humidifier power supply is a bit flakey.
Looks like it will be a long weekend without the humidifier.
