Waiting times

Its now over 6 weeks since I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea.I am still waiting to try out a CPAP machine with full mask
It would be interesting to know, and might help my case, how long others have had to wait before a machine is supplied.

Less than a month between sleep test and getting the machine. I live in the Sussex area.

I'm very impressed so far - have only had my CPAP a month though. They gave me a Fisher-Paykel one with a humidifier and heated hose.

Doncaster South York's turned me around in 3 weeks from sleep test to being given a brand new resmed auto spirit 11 and full face mask resmed mirage.
Went back last week and was also give a humidifier and second spare mask just in case my other failed or broke. They really could not offer a better service.

I did the overnight test at home on Monday and Tuesday, had an appointment with the consultant on Wednesday and had my machine by Friday!

I didn't even know what they were testing for and that what CPAP was, let alone how it worked or why I was getting one.

I waited two weeks from telling my doctor I was constantly sleepy to getting the Monday appointment at the clinic.

I am still not convinced I need the machine or that it's the aponea that's the problem but it's a thirty day trial and I do appreciate the care being provided on the NHS and getting the machine free and I'm determined to give it a fair trial.

I sort of hoping when I take the machine in and they read the card, they'll tell me it's not working and I shouldn't use it any more.
