Yes! I have a print catalogue here. It's the models as on their website. Other than confirming my earlier thoughts (OEM/White label -> Zzz-PAP) there isn't an awful lot to say at this stage. I'm not sure whether, or how fast for that matter, we will be looking to offer the Apex brand. Such a process can be months so don't "apnoea" (verb) but given the fact musotech got his hands on one here in the UK via a hospital means they must be available somehow. Will of course let you know more as and when!

I had my consultant appointment but unfortunately he was elsewhere and I saw a member of his team. She did not know anything about the source of the machines they have been issuing. Someone at the Hospital or the PCT must have information, I'll see if I can dig anything up in the Trust minutes at the local library.

Over to you, musotech, and thanks for your efforts. I wonder if a direct approach to your PCT or Hospital Trust might be quicker and/or more fruitful. The guy in the supply department is the one to talk to, if only one can find him! If you'd care to let me know the name of the Trust involved - and the name of the unit that gave you the Apex - I'd be happy to phone around.

Yes, it looks like we'll have at least some ready, perhaps not yet the APAP or the other one with the memory card but the Zzz-PAP-like affordable "travel" types should be ready to be delivered in time by Santa.

Many thanks to musoteck for telling us about Apex CPAPs and to James for cutting me a deal.

With a bit of luck and Royal Mail willing, I should have my XT III before Santa and Rudolf starts knocking tiles off roof tops. (Do you suppose the Council Action Line could do something about that?)

It has arrived!

Many, many thanks James! The Apex III and humidifier has arrived safe and sound. The cats had a ball with all those polystyrene thumbs - scattered them everywhere!

I agree the white finish looks very good - as does the whole rig. I'm very impressed, especially so for the money! It is most certainly small and light enough to be a travel rig and sophisticated enough to make a viable second machine.

I'm all set up to give it a go tonight - it had better work as I need to be fast asleep all night, of course, else Santa might not come.

Great to hear it got there in time. You can never be sure in the run up to X-MAS whether or not the couriers will do the job but it's great to hear they did. It's a nice bit of kit indeed, looks good, simple, everything you need in such a travel machine.

Used in ernest!

Just back from a few days in Malta, where I used my Apex XT-III in ernest for the first time.

I over-estimated the warmth of the Med at this time of year and did not take a heated hose. Cold CPAP air was a shock - but no rainout!

The XT-III worked a treat! Light and compact for travelling. Easy to set up, easy to use. I had to change a few settings - reduce max because any tiny leak was an ice lance. Increase ramp start pressure to alleviate the CPAP 'I can't breathe' feeling that newbies experience. And then - morning!

I used the HoseLift gizmo James gave me and that was a fair substitute for my Zebedee rig. Again, light as a feather for travel.

The whole experience was so good I intend to alter my APAP settings to more closely act as a CPAP - bring base and max pressure settings closer together - but I'll still have exhalation relief.

and welcome back from where ever you have been. I've sorely missed your input of sense and new information (to me, anyway).

I did get a few funny looks at airport secirity, actually - but nothing to do with CPAP and Apex XT-IIIs.

Easyjet set my mood with their check-in queue going out into entrance lobby, not unlike BA at the opening of T5, which cost me the fry-up breafast I enjoy at Garfunkle's whenever I fly at sparrow fart. Then the nice man at security couldn't find the metal about my person that was setting off his alarm. I said anyone would think I have cast iron balls. I don't know what he heard or thought I said ........ I caught the flight, at least!
