    How very interesting!

Well, I didn't know that so thanks for your question, Sarah.

You can direct access the Most Programme though they refer to your OSA Clinician and want a prescription. Monthly rental, free mask, annual service and most importantly, you send the smart card from your CPAP so they monitor your therapy and offer advice in conjunction with your Clinician. Good scheme but what puts me off is the £30 or £50 monthly rental - wouldn't take long to have spent more than the purchase price of your own machine. (See the "Has anyone bought Resmed products on line from the States" thread.)

I take it that you are suffering from the NHS Post Code Lottery method of not financing OSA Therapy?

To find out more, call the Sleep Support Team at Respironics on 0800 652 0303 (their direct number, cutting out Reception). I spoke to Debbie.

        No problemo

An American machine is the same as a UK machine except it doesn't have a Kite Mark on it. The power supply is from a transformer (mine is under the bed) for which you need a power cord/cable. You can either chop the American one and fit a UK plug or buy a new cord from Maplin or some electrical retailer. I spent £6 on a new cord and came home and found an old one on a no-longer used Sky box.

I get my support right here on the Forum, the NHS having given me a next appointment in August 2009. Having said that, the NHS should give you support whether the machine is your's or their's. The Forum is full of wise, experienced, helpful folk - so fear not. It all falls into place fairly soon after one gets used to the idea of having become a hose head.

The Most Programme sounds to be excellent - just too rich for my taste.
