    hi

    Your choice

I guess you have either strong lungs or a low CPAP pressure - or both. The ramp is a comfort feature, starting at a lower set pressure and rising over a period of time of your choice to your set CPAP pressure. If you don't want to use the ramp, you don't need to.

At higher CPAP pressures, the ramp let's you get used to being blown at gradually. Even with an APAP it is a useful feature, making falling asleep more easy.

Used to use the ramp, at first it was set to 4. I then changed to 5 because it was not giving me enough air to start off with. I was hyper ventilating on 4. I now just turn the machine on full from the start, no problems at all.

I turned my ramp off within a few weeks of getting the machine. Providing the mask is sitting comfortably and in the right pleace when you switch on there is no problem, I found the ramp a distraction and prefer the immediate full pressure when trying to sleep..... but everyone is different

I've seen people on 15cm who didn't use Ramping as they'd still fall asleep instantly. It really depends on the person.
