About a week ago my s10 started making a loud whining noise that rose and fell with my breath. I assumed it was a clogged motor and ordered a new one from china. On the meantime, I swapped the motors in my old (backup) S9 and the S10. The S10 was much quieter but still noisy. When the new motor arrived, I installed it in the S10. It still made a whining noise. After a day or two the level increased to match the original loud whine. I've set up my S9 to use until the problem is solved. Despite having the motor that was in the S10 when it started whining, there is no whining. I bought the S10 when the warning message that the motor had exceeded its working life popped up on the S9 but it is working perfectly.
I have read elsewhere that the cause of the whining in the S10 could be a worn or distorted air outlet adaptor. I've removed mine and cleaned but there is no change. Does anyone know where I can buy one?
Does anyone have any other thoughts about what could be causing the whine and what I can do to fix it please?
