I have used a cpap machine for over 10 yrs now. Used it every night. As a matter of fact can’t sleep without it. Did a sleep study several months ago. In that study they recommended a bipap machine with pressure settings of 24/20.
With my old cpap my pressure setting was 14 and it showed my AHI constantly around or under five. I used a nasal pillow mask with it.
I was confused with the results of the sleep study but still willing to try anything new as I’ve always been extremely exhausted even though I use the cpap without fail.
After switching to aircurve 10 vpap auto my AHI has been consistently 17 or above with some nights reaching 27 or higher. I have switched to a full face mask. Thinking maybe I had a lot of mouth breathing before which would cause false low readings. Didn’t help. At an appointment with my neurologist Friday he lowered the high side pressure down to 18 thinking maybe it was the higher pressure causing the problem. It didn’t help Ahi 27 last three nights. Any advice as to what to look for?
