  • Strap marks and face impacts

Hi, I have recently started using a CPAP machine and have to fasten it quite tightly to avoid air leaks. Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of the tell tale strap marks sooner and generally what face care products to use. My completion has definitely suffered, basic moisturiser seems to help a bit but there is room for improvement lol

    Thanks in advance

    Good Morning,

    Thank you for your post.

Can I kindly ask what mask you have, and do you have right size mask for your face?

Have you watched a fitting video on youtube to ensure you are putting the mask on and adjusting it correctly? You should not have to pull the mask tight to get a good seal.

Have you considered trying a sample pack of RemZzzs CPAP Mask Liners? These are a soft cotton fabric liner creates a barrier, absorbs skin oils and reduces air leaks as well as skin irritation and pressure marks. Here is a link to the product page - https://www.cpap.co.uk/product/remzz...p-mask-liners/

Thank you for the reply Kelly! It’s a ResMed Airsence 10, my mask has a different fastening to that one on the link you sent

It’s a medium mask, the large did not work at all, full face works better than under nose thanks to rhinitis complicating things!

          Hi,

Thank you for the reply. The Airsense10 is the name of the CPAP machine, not the mask.

Do you know the name of the mask? If not please send a photo to us at [email protected] and we can help you with the mask / mask liners if that would help.

              Good Morning,

              Thank you for your post.

Here is the link to the Airfit F20 mask page on our website - https://www.cpap.co.uk/product/airfi...with-quietair/
Please scroll down the page to the download tab and download the sizing guide, print at 100% and follow the instructions to measure your face.
The top of the cushion should sit on the bridge of your nose where if you wear glasses, these would sit. The bottom part of the cushion should sit in the dip in between your lower lip and chin.

Then watch a fitting video on youtube for the Resmed Airfit F20 mask.

If this does not help then please consider a sample pack of RemZzzs mask liners - https://www.cpap.co.uk/product/remzz...p-mask-liners/ and scroll down the to the compatibility chart to find your mask / mask size.

Please let me know how you get on.

              Kelly
