  • Moisture level?

    Good day everyone!
I'm 2 weeks into using my machine. I've had extreme problems with bloating and wind and wake up so very dry...couldn't spit dirt even

I've turned the moisture level up but seem to run out of water within 4 hours. If I turn it down I'm blowing tumble weeds in about 2 hours. I am a mouth sleeper and am considering a chin strap. Could this help?

I welcome any input at this point

A chin strap will help, but if you are a mouth breather you should really have a full-face mask.
As for the water running out, this used to happen to me when I had a Sullivan Humidifier (stand alone) it always ran out of water. However, I did get a good sleep before it ran out and felt a lot better for it. I don't know why they don't make them with twice the capacity of water.

Hi Dreamchaser, welcome to hoseheads anonymous. Tumble weeds and spitting dirt? Methinks you should sleep indoors, might help.

On a less jovial note, bloating is a frequent problem but a lot of people find it seems to sort itself out after while, not completely but I found it diminished after a couple of months.

As S2S said if you are a mouth breather but using a nose mask then the air is blasting out the wrong way and probably carrying the moisture with it. There seems to be a big difference between sleep clinics but it would be worth approaching them to see if they have either straps or full face masks.

If you can stick with it it's a great therapy, it's turned me from a grumpy, tired, balding middle aged man to a grumpy, NON tired, balding middle aged man who not only has much more energy than I did but no longer accumulates night time bruises from my wife.

Thank you...I guess the mask came in the wrong bag. It is a full face mask and I just purchased a chin strap so here's hoping! Thanks for your input...both of you

Took me a while before I found masks that didn't try to beat me up. A lot of the "soft" plastic ones didn't feel so soft after 7 hours of face bashing and needed a liner to make them mildly endurable. One design gave blasts of air in the eyes at the slightest movement which didn't add to the experience. At the min sleepweaver and pilairo are my favourites, and switching between them gives different areas of my face a slight beating in rotation, works pretty well but took the best part of a year before me and Gail (as in gale force wind) became friends.

Keep trying stuff, keep in touch with your clinic and hopefully it will get better.
