Ramp allows you to build up to the pressure set for you, so you can drop off to sleep at a lower pressure if that helps. I am a straight in myself, but have been at it 7 years. Good luck!

I have always used the ramp setting and I have been on CPAP for 8 years....I find it easier to drift off at a lower setting and have the pressure increase slowly....

A lesson in that one size (setting) doesn't suit all

As far as leaks go (and I have never tried a full face mask so this is only whati found with nasal masks) try loosening the straps so that the mask seal moves with you. If you over-tighten the air will force a way out...

I have a full face mask and also share this problem on occasion. I tend to tighten the lower straps both sides - probably too much, but it does seem to help

I've been there too Angie, and very frustrating it is, but perseverence is the only way...best way to to get rid of frustrations is to come on here and have a little rant, someone will always offer a snippet of advice that may be useful and get you one step further on the road to compliance.

I bet there isn't a single CPAP user on the forum who hasn't had frustration with masks and leaks. Even those of us who have been using it many years (10 in my case) still get nights where the damned thing won't seal whether you loosen it or tighten it.

All I can really say is that it does get better. it is unlikely to get perfect, but it does get better. and for those times it gets frustrating, there is always someone on here who has been there and will share your rant; rant away whenever you need to!
