    One thing to consider is that you need to get a prescription from the consultant if you wish to buy privately anyway....

    Also, only about 40% of users actually need a humidifier....I have never had one and do not at present feel the need for it...

    You wont know whether you are a nose breather or mouth breather until you have done the night on the auto-titrating machine (I thought I was a mouth breather until I had my sleep study, turns out I was a nose breather but continually congested until my CPAP treatment started), and therefore if you need nasal mask or full face.

    If you are advised to go auto-cpap these can range from about £450 upwards, if they advise fixed pressure you can get a machine for as little as £250 and masks from £60 plus.
