I live in Paris and have a 5-year old Respironics C-flex machine. It works great but I want to get a backup. Does anyone know where I can get one? How about checkout and repair? Thanks.

What is it you want - a back-up of any suitable type or another Respironcs C-Flex ? Intus are a great source - or go direct to manufacturer.
Are you British? THe NHS dispense them. Why buy an outdated machine when newer knobs and whistles versions are available?
Only place I know to service a Respironics machine is Respironics - but I'd be interested to learn of other repairers.

Hey Charly
Intus run this forum and sell CPAP stuff - http://www.eu-pap.co.uk/products.html . Great outfit with excellent after sales.
However, as you are from the States, you can buy much cheaper there than here. Most manufacturers nowadays ban retailers from exporting out of the US but you should be able to get round that by shipping to a friend/relative and have them forward the goods to you. There are any number of retailers in the US - mainly a mater of finding the best price/service.
How much do you want to spend? - top of the range APAP which you can use as APAP or CPAP or basic CPAP or anywhere between?

A back-up machine is always a good idea, most here have come to rely on their CPAP for good daytime functioning. Inevitably, one day yours will pack up and that's what you want to be prepared for.
Two strategies.
1. You buy a new full spec machine and keep your current one as the back-up. This gets you the latest technology and design.
2. You buy a low-spec machine, as the back-up. This can save a bit of money but may make you miss out on some product developments you could benefit from.
As far as fixing machines goes, this is linked with the serial number of the device so generally, a US machine gets fixed in the US (related to its support contract). So if you will stay in Paris, try and get a machine local. Or from us in the UK so at least you can ship it in a day or two at a reasonable fee.
Let us know what you are after and we can talk a bit more specific about certain machines.
