  • I dont want to stop but !

One side of my nose has been blocked for over a month now.
I dont think that the pressure, both air and physical, on my blocked nose is doing any good.
I am also having problems with blurred vision
I think I will have to stop using my APAP for a while to see if it helps.
    What do you think

    Blcoked nose

What has your doctor said about the blocked nose?
I recently had an infection in mine which was cleared up with the appropriate cream (Naseptin).

I'm waiting to get a blood vessel in my nose cauterised as I get spontaneous nose bleeds. Makes apap/cpap unpleasant.

I have been prescibed Fluticasone nasal spray which I have used for about 3 weeks but it does not have much effect yet.
I only used the APAP for 5 hours last night and my nose was clearer this morning so will try a few nights off to see if it helps.

        humidity?

        Hi silvercarper,
Sorry you've been plagued with congestion. Personally I leave my humidifier off...though filled with water. I live in a dry climate (high desert New Mexico). Are you over-humidifying?

        No history of deviated septum?

I hope the nasal spray works but for maintenance use though something more natural would be better such as a nasal irrigation.

If your apnea isn't severe perhaps a little break wouldn't hurt. Keep it to the minimum and get back to treatment asap.

        Well that's my advice...any help?

          time to hit the sinupulse

I think Fluticasone is a steroid which will help if you have damaged the lining of your nose and can also help with allergies. Regular irrigation with Sinupulse will help keep you clear of infections and blockages.

I will have to stop using it as it could be effecting my eyesight.I think the pressure on my blocked nose and sinuses is causing me problems.
My eyesight is too bad to be able to drive so stopping CPAP must be worth trying to see if it helps.

Does anybody else get flashing, geometric patterns flashing in there eyes all the time
