  • Change to Auto pressure

    Hi Guys

Im currently on a pressure of 4-20 on Auto, I sometimes feel like I cannot handle such a low pressure, is there any reason I should/could not change my settings to 10-15? my prescribed fixed pressure is 10.

    Thanks in advance

If you have a doc's recommendation of 10, there's indeed little, if anything, against narrowing the bracket around that figure. If 10 is the target, there's no point in trying to cope with 4 or 20.

Like you suggest, I would change it/have it changed, but probably to something like 8-15.

I too found a low setting didn't really feel right.

I've pushed up the starting setting on mine - as 4 was too low and wasn't comfortable.

I set the ramp a bit lower so the machine starts on 10 for me and i can ramp it to 6 if i need to (My actual rate level is higher than yours hence the 10)

Hi my machine was set from 4 lowest to 10 highest setting. I was feeling breathless when I turned the ramp onto 4. So I upped the lower setting to 5. Now I am not struggling to breath at start up. Well worth doing.

          P.S. my script is 10.

Nice one, keep it up, people don't realise what a good nights sleep costs.

                Great to hear.

The reason CPAPers are so amazed with the change is the gradual deterioration over many years. It takes some 10-20 years to get to the bad state they're in, then along comes CPAP. Almost overnight you reverse the process. That's why the power of CPAP is perceived as such an awesome impact. It's scary to think how many people just don't know better than how they feel now, not realizing what good health/good sleep actually feels like.
