  • Can anyone help me breakdown these results i have from encore viewer

Hi, i have been using my Apap machine for 8 days now, like i said in another post i havnt been feeling much diffrent (although i did wake up this morning feeling like magic!)
i've downloaded my sd card into encore viewer and it's exported a .pdf document with my treatment of the last 8 days, i was wondering if anybody experienced could take a look at it and tell me what is actually happening

I'm wondering seeing as i'm not feeling totally full of energy and these results seem quite low maybe i was misdiognosed with OSA?

Not going to be of much help as I use a pulse oximeter.

The AHI index 5-10 is termed mild sleep apnea but this is occuring while you are under treatment, so yes, you in all likelyhood have OSA. What the other stuff means I have no idea, I have whats termed mild obstructive sleep apnea, and I used to wake up feeling tired and often with Co2 retention headaches. The machine stopped the headaches dead but I still felt tired at first for about a week or so.

Sorry I can't be of more help

Usual "I'm not a doctor" type disclaimer.

How approachable is your sleep clinic? The best thing would be to visit them and take the pdf with you.

Your average AHI of 3.5 seems reasonable if not spectacular; what was your diagnosed AHI or level of severity?

You're getting more than 4 hours of use per night.

Basically it looks like you're using the machine properly and it's functioning ok. It took me a few months before I started feeling the full benefit from a CPAP machine.

because i kept having trouble with the pulse oximeter staying on my finger, the doctor said there wasn't enough information to get from the device but because of my epworth score and me falling asleep behind the wheel he thought it would be a very good idea to trial me on the cpap machine rather than waiting for a overnight sleep study

            Hi phudgey

It all means you are doing very well indeed - with room for improvement. You have low AHIs at low pressures - I'm envious!

Keep going with the machine as it is, get used to wearing the mask. Once you are comfortable and getting eight hour nights, you can thinlk about tweaking - but you'll be on CPAP by then, probably.

Stick with it, you're doing well!

Also not a doctor but I look at such reports daily.

You are doign VERY WELL. Good on you.

              Low pressure= comfortable.
              No leaks = comfortable.
              Low AHI = brilliant.

              Rooms for improvement:

It's been a bit stop-start. A solid green bar, 7.5 hours is what you want to see there.

The question, more important than the stats at this stage, is how do you feel? Any problems? Mask discomfort? Why is it stop-start, do you wake up?
