  • Dealing with pressure sickness

    Hi folks first post here.

Been using CPAP for 2 weeks and first 2 nights were fine but since then I am waking at night feeling sick and bloated. I have noticed that the pressure level on my machine is usually about 15 when this happens. I also have same problem when waking in morning if have managed to eventually get back to sleep. I am not due back to clinic for another week when hopefully I can the technicians to set a pressure limit just below the sickness level. Does anyone have similar problems. Advice on coping with this meantime would be appreciated.

Speak with your clinic about it - but the bloating is normally caused by swallowing air. I'm guessing you have an auto-cpap? Your technician should be able to set it to work within a range you are comfortable with and that is still effective - keep plugging on until your appointment if you can though as it will record data they can use to see how to adjust it.
